How long does it take for my account to become active?

All Bronze, Silver and Gold accounts are active immediately. Basic accounts become active after a moderator has reviewed content. This may take from 10 minutes to 24 hours depending on the time of day, etc.

NOTE: You will need to upload at least one photo and select at least one of those photos to be your 'main' image BEFORE your listing will become active.

Why won't my image upload?

Be sure the image you are uploading is a .jpg file, the file size is less than 500k (1/2 meg) and resolution is set to 72dpi. Also, the file name cannot contain special characters such as ! @ # $ % ^\ & * ( ) : ; " { } [ ] / \ |, ' ? etc.

How is the order of my listing determined on a search page?

MIO Talent uses a point system to determine the priority of the listings. All non-Basic accounts will be listed first sorted by Member Level then by Member points and then all Basic accounts will be listed sorted by Member points. Members can accumulate points by being active at MIO Talent. So, if you want your listing to appear toward the top of the list, be active. Activity Points are awarded as follows:

1 Point will be awarded for:
Logging In To Your Account (1 Point Per Day)
Uploading A Photo
Making A Comment On Another Member's Portfolio Image
Posting On The Forums

2 Points will be awarded for:
Sending A Message To Another Member
Commenting or Voting in a Contest

5 Points will be awarded for:
Making A Comment In The Critique Gallery

10 Points will be awarded for:
Having A New Member Sign-up Using Your Referral Link

Who can create contests?

Any Silver or Gold level member may create contests.

How do I report abuse on this site?

If you would like to file a complaint against another member, go to that members listing and look for the gold shield at the top of the page. Click on the shield and follow the directions from there. NOTE: You must be logged in to see the shield as this feature is only available to our members.

How do I cancel my account?

If you would like to discontinue your listing at MIO, simply delete all images from your portfolio and change your professional name to: "CANCEL".

How does the message system work?

Inbox holds all message threads that are started by OTHERS to you. Outbox holds all message threads that YOU start to others. Also, you may not delete a message thread that you start, only the original receiver. This is so that if someone abuses the system by sending an inappropriate message, they cannot later delete the evidence. Free listings are limited to how many messages can be sent in one day.
